Civilization V - Skip DirectX Prompt, Intro Cinematic and Logos

Skip DrectX Prompt

Whenever you start Civilization V, you get a prompt asking you which version of DirectX to use. You can get it to remember your choice by following these instructions.

1. In your Steam Game Library, find Civilization V.
   Right click it and click Properties.
2. Click the "Set launch options..." button.
3. Choose one of the following:
• To run the game in DirectX 11 mode:
• Type in \dx11 and click OK.
• To run the game in DirectX 9 mode:
• Type in \dx9 and click OK.
4. Click Close.

Skip Intro Cinematic and Logos

1. In the game, from the main menu, click Options.
2. Click Interface Options.
3. Check "Skip Intro Video".
4. Click Accept.

You can also delete the intro video files:

1. In your Steam Game Library, find Civilization V.
2. Right click it and click Properties.
3. Click the Local files tab.
4. Click the "Browse local files..." button to open up the game folder.
5. Delete the file "Civ5_Opening_Movie_en_US".
6. If you have the "Gods & Kings" expansion installed then follow these steps as well.
1. Open the "Assets" folder.
2. Open the "DLC" folder.
3. Open the "Expansion" folder.
4. Delete any file beginning with "Civ5XP_Opening_Movie".
7. If you have the "Brave New World" expansion installed then follow these steps as well.
1. Open the "Assets" folder.
2. Open the "DLC" folder.
3. Open the "Expansion2" folder.
4. Delete any file beginning with "Civ5XP2_Opening_Movie".
